UK PBS Tier 4 (General) Student Visa for Philippine Applicants

Tier 4 (General) Student Visa



International students from the Philippines (outside the UK or EU) are required to apply for a student visa. Under a point-based system, you need 40 points to apply for a student visa. 


1. Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).

• This is issued to you to study from any college or university which has been granted a Tier 4(General) sponsor license(Highly Trusted Status)  by the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI).This constitutes the 30 points of the PBS rule. Apply your visa n o more than 6 months after you received the CAS.

2. Funds

• You must have enough money to pay for both your course fees and your living expenses. You cannot get public funds. This is the 10 points of the PBS rule.

3. English Language

• You need to pass the Secure English Language Test (SELT) to test your English language knowledge.

4. Course

• A full-time course leading to Level 6 on the National Qualification Framework(NQF).
• A full-time course below degree level or at least NQF Level 3 with at least 15 hours per week daytime classroom study.
• An overseas degree level course equivalent to a UK higher education course.
• A recognized foundation program.

5.  Documents

• A current passport - a blank page for visa stamping.
• A passport-sized photo.
• A proof of funds.
• A parental or legal guardian consent -if below 18 years of age.
• A Tuberculosis Test - Only approved test clinic in the Philippines.

Application

• Apply online and register an account.
• fill in the online application form and print it out.
• In most cases, payment for the visa is online. 
• Book and attend an appointment at a visa application centre.
• Bring all your original and a photocopy of all your supporting documents.
• Tuberculosis(TB) Test.
• Fingerprints and photograph will be taken at the visa application center for your Biometric Residence Permit. Collect your Biometric Residence Permit when you arrive in the UK.

Fees

• It will cost you GBP322. Pay GBP322 per person at any dependants.
• Pay for the Immigration Health Surcharge - GBP150 per year for the duration of the visa. Where part of a year is 6 months or less GBP75 is charged.

Visa Application Processing Time

• Within 60 days.
• Apply your visa 3 months before the start of your course.
